Jessie's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

1/2 cup Crisco shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 bag (1 cup) chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven 375 degrees.

  2. Grease baking sheets.

  3. Cream together Crisco and sugars. Beat in the eggs. Add vanilla and mix well.

  4. Stir in the flour, soda and salt, well. Add chocolate chips and walnuts until well blended.

  5. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets.

  6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Bake until they look just a bit underdone and then let sit on the cookie sheet for a minute or two for a chewier cookie.
