Jam Bars

From the kitchen of Gigi Jones

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups quick oats
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup margarine
1 cup jam or preserves (raspberry is really good)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Stir together flour, oats, brown sugar and soda.

  3. Cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly.

  4. Press 2/3 of mixture into an ungreased 9x13 inch pan.

  5. Spread on the jam or preserves.

  6. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.

  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

  8. Cool and cut into bars.
