Fruit Cake

1 stick butter
1 stick margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese
4 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup maraschino cherries
1 cup dates
1 cup raisins
1 cup nuts
1 cup pineapple wedges (candied)
and/or fruit cake mix


Combine butter, margarine, sugar, cream cheese, and eggs. Add flour and baking soda. Mix well. Add 1 cup of each (use all or some): maraschino cherries, dates, raisins, nuts, pineapple wedges (candied) and/or fruit cake mix. Grease and flour bunt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hours.
