Fluffy Shortbread Cookies

From the kitchen of Peggy Hemstock

Ingredients

1 cup butter (margarine does NOT work), softened
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
small jar maraschino cherries

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

  2. Beat ingredients together until light and fluffy (usually 5 or more minutes).

  3. Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet.

  4. Top with maraschino cherry.

  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
