1 cup butter (margarine does NOT work) softened
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
small jar Maraschino cherries
Beat ingredients together until light and fluffy (usually 5 or more minutes).
Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Top with maraschino cherry. Bake at 325 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
