Makes Approx. 60 balls • From the kitchen of Sophia Plummer
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package (8 ounce) chopped dates
1 cup chopped nuts
2 1/2 cups Rice Krispies

Melt butter in large saucepan. Add vanilla, sugar, egg, and dates and simmer over medium heat until thick. Remove from heat. Mix in nuts and Rice Krispies.
Allow to cool until mixture can be handled.
Grease hands and form into small balls.
Roll balls into coconut.
