Gum Drop Cookies

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 cups gum drops, cut up
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups oatmeal


Cream shortening, margarine, and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Stir in oatmeal and gun drops. Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
