Mrs. Claus' Christmas & Holiday Pies - Recipe for Italian Pastry

Italian Pastry

Ingredients

3 ounces cream cheese
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Directions

  1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 325 degrees.


Shells:

  1. Mix cream cheese, flour, and butter and refrigerate at least one hour.

  2. Roll into 24 balls.

  3. Put in tiny cupcake pans, form around cup with fingers.


Filling:

  1. Mix egg, light brown sugar, vanilla, salt and chopped nuts.

  2. Put into prepared pie shells (fill 1/2 full).

  3. Bake for 25 minutes.
