Banana Tea Bread

Makes 1 loaf

From the kitchen of Bailey Elizabeth Allen



1 3/4 Cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 Cup soft shortening
2/3 Cup sugar (less if using chocolate chips)
2 eggs unbeaten
2-3 mashed ripe bananas


Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease large loaf pan or 2 small. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt in small bowl. In large bowl mix sugar & shortening then add eggs until light and fluffy. Blend flour mixture in alternately with bananas until smooth. Pour into pan after adding chocolate chips to mixture with spoon. Bake 1 hour. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack. DONE!
