Etsy Item of the Day: Basset Hound Ornament

One of my favourite things about the holidays is spending time with family—whether it’s sharing a meal, snuggling on the couch watching Elf, or simply relaxing together while gazing at the falling snow. My most immediate family consists of my husband and my basset hound who is my best friend. [My basset is actually sitting right next to me while I write this.] Given how much I love my dog, the ornaments on our Christmas tree are probably 50% basset- or dog-related, and this cute ornament would make a wonderful addition. Cast from an original, hand-carved wood master and then hand-painted, this basset ornament is available in tri-colour, red & white, or black & white.

Etsy Item of the Day: Christmas Basset Hound Fabric

Earlier this season, Mary wrote about holiday tea towels from Spoonflower and showcased some of her favourite designs. Well, while searching for Christmassy basset items on Etsy, I came across this pattern from Spoonflower. Oh my goodness—LOOK AT THE CUTENESS. Featuring tri-colour basset hounds, Christmas puddings, mistletoe, and more festive goodies, this fabric is amazingly adorable. If I knew how to sew, I’d be making myself a dress out of this fabric stat. Purchase this fabric from Spoonflower’s Etsy shop or directly from their website.

Etsy Item of the Day: Ugly Sweater Basset Hound Ornament

As I’ve made abundantly clear over the years, I LOVE basset hounds. Due to my floppy-eared fascination, I’m always on the look out for basset hound holiday decor, and boy do I adore this ornament. The porcelain ornament features an original illustration of a rather happy basset looking adorable in his ugly Christmas sweater. Too cute!

Etsy Item of the Day: Bassets Under the Mistletoe Christmas Card

After the adorable, festive videos and photos I posted earlier today, I have bassets on the brain. Although—let’s be honest—when do I not? Of course I adore this sweet Christmas card featuring two basset hounds under the mistletoe. This card does leave me wondering one thing: When doggies meet up under the mistletoe, do they slurp or sniff each other?
