Tree People for the Kids’ Table

This is a great project for kids! Perhaps you are making a centerpiece for your dinner party, but your little ones want to help. Here’s a fun idea—jazz up the branches with a few accessories and wiggly eyes and use them as centerpieces for the kids’ table.  I used the leftover pieces of tree branches from when I made the tree card holders. You may also recall my earlier posts about burlap runners, balls, bunting, and yarn pompoms. These cheery, little, tree characters are a great way to have the kids’ table decor match the adult table!

Let’s Decorate Candles!

Doesn’t everyone love candles? They are warm, inviting, and make a space feel cozy. When shopping for candles, the fancier candles can get pricey, so why not make your own? You can have the satisfaction of making something yourself and, at the same time, of giving a unique handmade gift to a loved one. The possibilities are endless when it comes to decorating and embellishing candles, so here are a few ideas.

Layered Food Labels

Labels add a nice finishing touch to your holiday spread and are a great way to tie all your decor together. It is increasingly common to see labels on prepared foods if they contain allergens. Due to the dietary concerns of my guests, I created icons to indicate whether a dish was vegetarian, contained halal meat, or contained nuts. Other useful labels might include Kosher, dairy, shellfish, etc.

Burlap Table Runners

Add a rustic touch to your party decor with this burlap table runner. It’s incredibly easy to make. Burlap is available in a variety of colors; you can find practically any color online. With such an assortment, you can use these runners for any occasion; so mix it up and have fun decorating!

The amount of burlap that you need to get depends on the number of tables you have, and the size of each table. Calculate these measurements first, and then acquire your burlap.

Rustic Fabric & Burlap Balls

These rustic balls are a great way to decorate on a minimal budget. Just grab some paper, some burlap and fabric, a little bit of glue, and you’ll wow your friends with your creative talent! Since I love combining textures and colors, I decided to make some with different textured fabric in addition to burlap. Add more variety to your display by centerpiece by making a range of sizes.
