Mrs. Claus' Christmas & Holiday Pies - Recipe for Buttermilk Pie

Buttermilk Pie

Makes 6-8 servings

Ingredients

1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry pie shell
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups buttermilk
3 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter or margarine

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) .

  2. Mix sugar and flour.

  3. Add buttermilk, beaten eggs, vanilla.

  4. Melt the butter over low heat.

  5. Add to buttermilk mixture and mix well.

  6. Pour into pie shell and bake for 35-40 minutes.
