Cinnamon Morning Delight

Makes 10 servings • From the kitchen of Arnie

Ingredients

1 cup margarine, softened
2 3/4 cups sugar, divided
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 medium eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups sour cream (16 ounces)
2 tablespoons cinnamon, ground
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and 2 cups of sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla.

  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  4. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt.

  5. Add alternately with sour cream, beating just enough after each addition to keep batter smooth.

  6. Spoon 1/3 of batter into a greased 10 inch tube pan.

  7. Combine cinnamon, nuts and remaining sugar.

  8. Sprinkle 1/3 over batter in pan. Repeat layers 2 more times.

  9. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until cake tests done.

  10. Cool for 10 minutes.

  11. Remove from pan to cool completely.

  12. Butter top and let melt.
