Mrs. Claus' Christmas & Holiday Pies - Recipe for Swedish Apple Pie

Swedish Apple Pie

Ingredients

1 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
4 or 5 apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup flour
1 egg
pinch of salt
3/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Slightly grease pie plate.

  3. Combine 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples and tossing to coat.

  4. Put into pie plate and set aside.

  5. In a bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, egg, salt, butter and nuts.

  6. Mix well and pour over apples.

  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
