Recipe Details

Bake Time:
50-55 minutes
4 servings
Good for parties/potlucks, Kid friendly


8 slices white bread
3 ounces shredded cheese
6 eggs
3 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dry mustard
6 strips lean bacon


  1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Shred bread (crust on or off) into bite sized chunks. Mix bread and cheese.

  3. Spread mixture into a 9x9 baking pan.

  4. Beat eggs; add milk, salt, pepper and dry mustard. Beat again.

  5. Pour egg mixture over bread and cheese; lay bacon strips on top.

  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night (if desired).

  7. Remove plastic wrap and bake uncovered for 50-55 minutes.
