Mrs. Claus' Christmas & Holiday Pies - Recipe for Faux Apple Pie

Faux Apple Pie

Makes 8 servings

Ingredients

2 cups of water
1 1/2 cups sugar
24 Ritz crackers (whole)
5 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 ready made pie crust

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Boil water and sugar for 3 minutes. Reduce heat to a general boil.

  3. Add Ritz crackers whole, do not smash or crumble, add butter and boil for 2 more minutes.

  4. Place mixture in 1 of the pie crust and sprinkle with cinnamon, cover with top crust.

  5. Bake until golden brown, about 40-60 minutes.
