Recipe Details

40-50 minutes

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup melted butter
1 1/2 cups applesauce
2 teaspoons soda

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Grease and flour a 9x9 cake pan.

  3. Combine together flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.

  4. Add raisins, chopped walnuts and melted butter.

  5. In a separate bowl combine applesauce and soda.

  6. Add to dry ingredients and beat until well blended.

  7. Pour into prepared pan.

  8. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes.

  9. Serve with whipped cream.
