Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine
1 cup cooking oil
2 eggs
4 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Combine sugars, butter and oil, beat well.

  3. Add eggs and mix well.

  4. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar and vanilla.

  5. Cover with plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator overnight.

  6. Make into small balls and flatten slightly with a fork.

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Do not over bake.
