Angel Crisps

Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
water for dipping
sugar for dipping
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cream shortening, sugars, vanilla and egg.
Add dry ingredients.
Roll dough into walnut size balls.
Dip top in water, then in sugar, place sugar side up on baking sheet.
Dent top with finger.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
Put on cooling racks until cool.
Store in an air tight container.
