I got the recipe from my mother. It’s been modified a bit through the years but continues to be a family favorite. It’s easy to prepare and is ready in an hour.

Ingredients

4 beaten eggs
3 Tbl melted butter
1 tsp dry mustard
3 1/2 cups milk
1 Tbl flour
2 cups cubed fresh bread
3 cups cubed ham (OR 1 cup cubed ham, 1 cup cooked chopped bacon, and 1 cup pre-cooked chopped breakfast sausage)
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 small can mushroom pieces (drained)
1 small can chopped or sliced ripe olives (drained)

Directions

  1. In 9x13 greased pan or oven safe dish, mix and spread out: cubed fresh bread, ham (OR ham, bacon and sausage), sharp cheddar cheese, mushroom pieces, and ripe olives.

  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, dry mustard, beaten eggs, milk, and flour. Pour over dry Ingredients above.

  3. Let set in refrigerator overnight.

  4. Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 hour.
