Ingredients

1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter
3 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese
6 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups sifted cake flour

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

  2. Grease only the bottom of a 10 inch tube pan.

  3. Cream butter, cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy. Add salt and vanilla.

  4. Add eggs one at a time and beat after each addition. Add flour, dividing into four additions.

  5. Pour into prepared pan.

  6. Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
