Butter Pecan Turtle Cookies

Makes 3 Dozen

From the kitchen of Kelly, Stacey, & Scott Carpency



2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup whole pecan pieces
2/3 cups butter
1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup milk chocolate chips


Heat oven to 350%. In large mixer bowl combine all crust ingredients except pecans. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed and particals are fine(2 to 3 minutes).Press on bottom of 13 x 9 inch baking pan.Sprinkle pecans evenly over unbaked crust. In 1 Quarter sauce pan,Combine butter & brown sugar.Cook over medium heat,stirring constantly,until entire surface begins to boil.Boil 1 minute,stirring constantly.Pour over pecans & crust.Bake 18-22 minutes or until entire carmel layer is bubbly.Remove from oven.Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips;allow to melt slightly (2-3 minutes).Swirl chips with a butter knife leaving some whole for a marbled effect.Cool completely;cut into bars.MMmmm!
