Mrs. Claus' Christmas & Holiday Cookies - Recipe for Katelyn's Cocoa Butter Balls

Katelyn's Cocoa Butter Balls

Makes 36 balls • From the kitchen of Miss Katelyn, age 8

Ingredients

2/3 cup butter
3/4 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups oatmeal
1/2 cup to 3/4 cup powdered sugar for coating

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar.

  2. Blend cocoa, milk and vanilla.

  3. Add cocoa mixture to butter mixture and blend thoroughly.

  4. Add oatmeal and mix with hands. Form into balls, 3/4 inch in diameter.

  5. Chill mixture as necessary to make shaping easier.

  6. Place additional powdered sugar in bowl. Drop balls into sugar. Roll to coat.

  7. Place on plate; refrigerate until firm, about one hour.
