Recipe Details

Bake Time:
10-15 minutes

Ingredients

3/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup canned mincemeat
1 cup walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cream together shortening, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients then add mincemeat and nuts.

  3. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

  4. Bake for 10-15 minutes.

My 94 year old Grandmother loved these cookies! They have more of a bread-like consistency. I will make them again, especially for my Grandmother, but the could use more pecans in them.
