Ingredients

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1 large can peaches, sliced or halves, drained

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Cut up the butter or margarine, and put the pieces in a 9- by 13-inch pan.

  3. Set the butter in the oven to melt, but don't let it get bubbling hot.

  4. Mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder together. Stir in the milk and mix well.

  5. Pour this mixture into the pan of melted butter. Do not stir!

  6. Spread the peaches evenly across the top.

  7. Bake 50 to 60 minutes, until golden brown.
