Ingredients

1 cup butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange extract
3 eggs
3 3/4 cups all purpose flour
pinch of salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
red or green sugar crystals (optional)

Directions

  1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 .

  2. Grease baking sheets.

  3. Beat together butter, granulated sugar, vanilla, orange extract and eggs until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda until thoroughly blended.

  5. Refrigerate until firm, several hours or over night.

  6. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until light brown in color.

  7. Watch carefully.
