Ingredients

1 cup raisins
1 cup water
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup or less sugar
2 eggs, separated
1 cup cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 deep dish pie shell, unbaked

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Boil 1 cup of raisins in 1 cup of water for 5 minutes or until plump.

  3. Mix together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, yolks, salt and cream.

  4. Add the raisins.

  5. Put in pie shell.

  6. Bake for 20 minutes.

  7. Meanwhile, whip egg whites until stiff, add 2 tablespoons sugar, cream of tartar, beat until well combined.

  8. Spread over hot pie, place back in over for 5-8 minutes, until well browned.
