3 1/2 dozen sandwich cookies

Ingredients

2/3 cup butter or margarine
2 cups quick oats, uncooked
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups (11 1/2 ounce package) Nestle Toll House milk chocolate morsels

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Cover cookie sheets with foil.

  3. Melt butter in medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat.

  4. Stir in oats, sugar, flour, corn syrup, milk, vanilla extract, and salt; mix well.

  5. Drop by measuring teaspoonfuls about 3 inches apart, onto foil-lined cookie sheets.

  6. Spread thin with rubber spatula.

  7. Bake 5-7 minutes.

  8. Cool on cookie sheets.

  9. Peel foil away from cookies.

  10. Melt milk chocolate morsels over hot (not boiling) water; stir until smooth.

  11. Spread chocolate on flat side of half the cookies.

  12. Top with remaining cookies.
