Recipe Details

Ingredients

2 cups (1 pound) Parkay margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla
4 1/2 cups flour
green sugar
red sugar

Directions

  1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 325 degrees.

  2. Beat margarine and sugar until well combined and fluffy. Add vanilla and flour.

  3. Divide dough into two parts. Roll each part into 10 or 12 inch long ropes.

  4. On two large sheets of waxed paper, place red colored sugar on one and green colored sugar on the other. Roll one cookie dough rope in red sugar and one cookie dough rope in green sugar.

  5. Refrigerate until ready to bake.

  6. When ready to bake, slice dough with very sharp knife into 1/2 to 3/4 inch slices.

  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until cookies are lightly brown and set.
