Mrs. Claus' Christmas & Holiday Cookies - Recipe for Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Cream butter. Add 3/4 cup sugar and add mix thoroughly.

  3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; stir in mixture.

  4. Form dough into balls about the size of walnuts.

  5. Roll in mixture of 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

  6. Place two inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake 8 - 10 minutes.
