Ingredients

saltine (soda) crackers
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup (1/2 pound) butter or margarine
1 1/2 to 2 cups chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with foil, shiny side down.

  2. Place crackers in a single layer on cookie sheet.

  3. Mix sugar and butter in a saucepan, bring to a slow boil. DO NOT SCORCH. Let cool slightly and pour over crackers.

  4. Melt chocolate chips; pour over crackers.

  5. Cool and break into pieces like peanut brittle.

I have made this several times however after I pour the cooked butter/sugar mixture I place the pan in oven (350 for 5 minutes. Then remove from oven and sprinkle with the Chocolate Chips spreading them as they melt. let cool and break into pieces and enjoy1 .
