Ingredients

1 pound good smoked bacon
5 pounds chopped sirloin
1 pound sweet onion, sliced thin
1 pound large round carrots, sliced thin
3 pounds nice red potatoes, sliced thin
1/4 cup water and seasonings of your choice

Directions

  1. Layer the ingredients starting with the bacon on the bottom then the hamburger, potatoes (sliced thin), onions (sliced thin) and carrots.

  2. Repeat the layering process till you fill up a large cooking pot making sure you end with the carrots on top.

  3. Season to taste, and add a 1/4 cup water and cook on top of stove covered on medium heat for 2 to 3 hours or when the carrots on top are tender you are ready to enjoy a stovetop stew on a cold snowy winter day!!!
