Sweet Potato Casserole

For easy oven cleanup you may want to place a cookie sheet underneath pan to prevent boil over to bottom of oven.

3 cups cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Butter 8x11 inch cake pan, or use non-stick cooking spray.
Combine sweet potatoes and 1/2 cup of butter or margarine, mash well.
With electric mixer beat in sugar, eggs, vanilla and milk. Mix well and pour into a prepared pan.
In separate bowl combine 1/3 cup melted butter and flour then add pecans and brown sugar.
Combine well, mixture will be thick; put on top of potato mixture.
Bake for 35 minutes, or until bubbly and nicely browned.
