Hard Candy
From the kitchen of Timothy and his Mom
Ingredients
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
3/4 cup light syrup
1 teaspoon flavoring
Directions
Mix sugar, water, and syrup in heavy saucepan and cook to 300 degrees on a candy thermometer.
Remove from heat, add desired flavoring and color. Pour into a well-greased cookie sheet. When partly cooled cut into stripes with scissors and then into a bite size pieces.
Cover with powdered sugar.
Some flavoring/color ideas: Peppermint-pink, Cinnamon-red, Spearmint-dark blue, Wintergreen-dark green, Orange-orange, Grape-purple and Lemon-yellow.
