Ingredients

1 pound Land O Lakes butter (no substitutions)
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 package (12 ounce) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup pecans, finely ground (may use food processor)

Directions

  1. Spray a cookie sheet with sides with non-stick spray.

  2. Melt butter with sugar and water in a Dutch oven. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer is at the hard crack stage.

  3. Pour into a cookie sheet.

  4. Immediately sprinkle top with chocolate chips. As soon as they turn glossy, spread over top with a knife, and then sprinkle the top with pecans.

  5. Let cool completely.

  6. Break into small pieces.

I have made this recipe many times and always get compliments on it! I make it without the nuts as well for those that don't like them. It is wonderful! Love it!
