Ingredients

2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter, margarine or shortening
2 eggs
1 cup milk
4 or 5 baking apples
sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

  2. Grease a 9x13 cake pan.

  3. Mix first 6 ingredients and pour into prepared pan.

  4. Slice 4 or 5 baking apples and place on top of batter.


Topping:

  1. Combine 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and 3 tablespoons butter, mix together and sprinkle this mixture on top of batter.

  2. Then sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg on top.

  3. Bake for one hour.
