Ingredients

4 eggs
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) oleo (butter/margarine), divided
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
2/3 cup cocoa, divided
1 dash salt
1 cup chopped pecans
2 teaspoons vanilla, divided
1 box powdered sugar
6-8 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon powdered instant coffee (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Grease a 13x9 cake pan.


Cake:

  1. Melt 2 sticks butter and 1/3 cup cocoa together.

  2. In large bowl, beat together eggs, 2 cups sugar, flour and salt.

  3. Add butter/cocoa mixture to bowl, add nuts and vanilla.

  4. Bake about 40 minutes.

  5. Remove from oven and cover with miniature marshmallows while cake is still hot.

  6. Let cool before icing.


Icing:

  1. Sift 1/3 cup cocoa, coffee and powder sugar.

  2. Add 1 stick melted butter, milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla - beat well and spread over cake.
