Ingredients

1 egg
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup (1/2stick) margarine or butter, soft enough to spread
1 1/4 cups all-purpose or whole wheat flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Put the egg in a bowl, mix lightly.

  3. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, shortening & margarine to the egg.

  4. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder & salt to sugar mixture.

  5. Add the chocolate chips. Stir again.

  6. Shape dough into 1 1/4 inch balls.

  7. Put the balls about 3 inches apart on the cookie sheet.

  8. Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until the cookies are light brown.

  9. Cool for 2 minutes.
