Cherry Winks

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup Crisco shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chopped dates
crushed corn flakes
maraschino cherries, halved
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Blend together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, Crisco, and sugar.
Mix in the eggs, milk, and vanilla, and beat well.
Add walnuts and dates. Mix together.
Drop by teaspoonfuls into crushed corn flakes and roll them around until coated.
Put on a cookie sheet and top each with 1/2 cherry.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Yummy when warm.
