Mrs. Claus' Christmas & Holiday Cookies - Recipe for Ice Box Cookies

Ice Box Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 or 3 tablespoons buttermilk
1 cup nuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Grease cookie sheets.

  3. Beat together sugars and butter, add eggs and vanilla.

  4. Add flour, salt and soda, combine well, adding enough buttermilk to form dough.

  5. Stir in nuts.

  6. Refrigerate to chill dough.

  7. Drop onto cookie sheet.

  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
