Grandma Joe's Brown Bread

From the kitchen of Brittany MacDonald

2 cups rolled oats
1 cup all bran
1 cup Domolco molasses (not Crosby's)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons shortening or margarine (not lard)
1 to 2 teaspoons salt
6 to 8 cups boiling water
2 packages Ferminpan yeast
10 to 12 cups flour

Combine first 6 ingredients in a bowl. Then pour boiling water over all and let cool. Put 2 cups of flour and yeast in a separate bowl; mix. When first mixture is cool add yeast/flour mixture. Add rest of flour until firm and can be rolled into smooth balls. Let rise in bowl, then put into pan and let rise again. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 40 minutes.
