Recipe Details

8-10 minutes

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon cream of tartar

Directions

  1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cream sugar and butter. Beat in eggs. Add milk and vanilla.

  3. Mix dry ingredients together and stir into creamed mixture (may need to add 1/4 cup of flour to make stiff dough).

  4. Chill 1 hour.

  5. Roll thin, cut into circles and sprinkle with sugar (or roll into balls, place on cookie pan and flatten with a glass dipped in sugar).

  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
