Ingredients

2 cups sugar
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Butter an 11x7 inch pan, set aside.

  2. Stir together sugar, milk, corn syrup, and salt in a 2 quart saucepan.

  3. Bring mixture to a boiled over medium-high heat, cook until a candy thermometer registers 249 degrees.

  4. Remove mixture from heat; add butter and let it melt (do not stir).

  5. Let cool to 10 to 15 min or until the pan is cool to the touch, Stir in vanilla.

  6. Beat mixture with electric mixer on medium for 2-3 min. or until mixture begins to lose its gloss.

  7. Working quickly, pour fudge into prepared pan.

  8. Let cool for 15 min.

The instructions do not tell you when to add the cocoa. Perhaps this could be remedied?
