Ingredients

1 cup oleo, softened
1/2 cup 10x sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cups finely chopped pecans
additional confectioner's sugar for dusting

Directions

  1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Mix together well: oleo, sugar and vanilla.

  3. Sift together: flour, salt and pecans and stir into butter mixture.

  4. Chill at least 1 hour and form 1 inch balls.

  5. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until set but not brown.

  7. Roll in 10x sugar and when cool roll again in 10x sugar.

  8. Store in airtight container.

I have made this recipe for years since I found this website. Always a big hit. Sold well at Xmas boutiques also. People love them. I use sliced almonds instead of pecans sometimes.
