Contains nuts, Good for parties/potlucks, Travels well


1 cup butter
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
additional confectioner's sugar for dusting


  1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Mix butter, sugar and vanilla together. Mix flour and salt together and stir into batter.

  3. Stir in nuts.

  4. Chill until cold.

  5. Roll into balls and put on ungreased pan.

  6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes.

  7. When they come out, roll them in powdered sugar while they are still warm.

  8. Let cool and roll again.
