Ingredients

1 package (8 ounce) Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup softened butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup Planters silvered almonds, finely chopped
icing sugar for sprinkling

Directions

  1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Beat cream cheese, butter, granulated sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add flour and baking soda; mix well.

  3. Add almond extract and chopped almonds to dough.

  4. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

  5. Shape 1-inch of dough into crescent shapes, then place on baking sheets.

  6. Flatten slightly.

  7. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

  8. Cool slightly on wire racks; sprinkle with icing sugar.
