Kiss Cookies
Makes 4 dozen
Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
sugar
1 package (9 ounce) chocolate kisses, unwrapped
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cream shortening and peanut butter; add sugar and brown sugar, beat well.
Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and blend thoroughly.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes.
Remove from oven immediately and place an un-wrapped kiss on top of each cookie.
Remove from cookie sheet; cool.
