Ingredients

1/2 cup crunchy style peanut butter
3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 package (6 ounce) chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Beat thoroughly peanut butter, shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla.

  3. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture and blend well.

  4. Fold in chocolate chips.

  5. Drop batter 2 inches apart onto baking pan.

  6. Bake 10-15 minutes.

  7. Let stand 2 minutes before removing from baking pan.
