Mrs. Claus' Christmas & Holiday Desserts - Recipe for Strawberry Delight

Strawberry Delight

Makes 20 servings • From the kitchen of Rachel

Ingredients

3 cups crushed pretzels
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup sugar, divided
1 package cream cheese
16 ounces cool whip
2 packages strawberry Jell-O
1 cup boiling water
16 ounces frozen strawberries, thawed

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix the pretzels, butter, and 1/4 cup sugar together, press into the bottom of a 13x9 inch cake pan.

  3. Bake for 10 minutes.

  4. Mix together Jell-O and boiling water, stir until Jell-O is completely dissolve and stir in strawberries.

  5. Pour over pretzel crust, refrigerate.

  6. Mix cream cheese, 3/4 cup sugar and cool whip.

  7. Smooth over Jell-O layer once it has partially set.

  8. Refrigerate until fully set, at least 1 hour.
