1 German chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare
14 ounce caramels, unwrapped
1/2 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
Heath Bar chips (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan.
Mix German chocolate cake mix according to directions on box and pour half of the batter into pan.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Melt the caramels with the evaporated milk and butter, spread this mixture over the half baked cake.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.
Pour remaining batter into pan and bake for 20 minutes.
Frost and sprinkle with Heath Bar chips, if desired.
